Lake obsession. About the film Black Swan

The main subject of Darren Aronofsky's work is an obsession. But that's not all. The director in each of his films shows the effects that even frenetic overall purpose of submission to the will of the characters and their surroundings. In "Pi," we had a manic search for God by using mathematical methods, the brilliant "Requiem for a Dream" drug addiction, and television, in the "Sources" love, which, it would seem, is able to defeat the passage of time and inevitable death, " The Wrestler 'desire to repair his wasted life. In all these films, we have also shown the inevitability of the event schema and the consequences of obsession. The result was the behavior of characters doomed to failure, and their desire to achieve its objectives at the same time slipping away from a return to normality. Vision is an extremely pessimistic, but thanks to this which might be a warning.

is no different in the latest American film director. "Black Swan " tells the story of Nina, a young, talented ballet dancer (played awarded a Golden Globe and Oscar nominee Natalie Portman). She receives a chance to play a major role in the ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake". It is also an opportunity to become a star, while requiring the artistic experience, which are able to meet only the best. Nina has put themselves in two roles, white and black swans. He has played both good, love and innocence and evil, treason and other dark aspects of human nature. Initially, it is not able to play the two characters. The role requires dedication and passion. The director alleges that a young ballerina, although it is technically perfect in her dancing can not see emotions, and they are important to reliably give pronunciation libretto. Nina tries to overcome his emotional limitations. And they are big. He lives alone with his mother, the person who abandoned a career in ballet to deal with the education of c plowing. In their world there is no men. O father, we know nothing, even though Nina's beauty in her surroundings lack admirers. It is just work and back home, cold place, where Nina is still practiced dancing figures, this time under the watchful eye of her mother. No feelings, coldness, perfection and excessive ambitions. Yes, you can specify the main daily heroine. It is not able to give her dancing weight of emotions arising from the role he has received. Ambition makes Nina tries to cope with the task, both will discover the excitement that will help ease the burden of her role, but it will be a step into the abyss of madness and will lead to tragedy.

"Black Swan" is a film about obsession. This time it relates to art and perdition with her. "Where are the limits of our commitment to creating works of art?" Seems to ask the director. Nina, because of the upbringing and lifestyle subordinates all reach a certain goal. Emotions that are discovered to her surprise, and it can not itself deal with them. Greed and jealousy arise, and Nina can not find their outlets. All this leads to a deepening of mental illness. The first symptoms are minor hallucinations. Injury, which as it turns out there is. Someone's distorted whisper in the ear that takes the heroine of the following sarcastic assessment. Careful look at the mother, which is taken as a mockery. All this is exacerbated as the Nina falls deeper and deeper into the role of the black swan, while discovering dark recesses of his soul. Her interactions with the environment are becoming increasingly disturbed. The deeper we enter into the role that becomes more alienated. He's lost his innocence and turns into a monster.

Aronofsky made a dark film, but this looks great. Yet we like to watch the images of the dark corners of human nature. The director does not run away from some reference. In my opinion, one of the inspirations was "Repulsion" by Roman Polanski. A similar emotional coldness, a lonely woman and her obsession. This is not an objection to Aronofsky, because even if the film was inspired by our countryman otherwise spread accents. In addition, proved that he was going their own path designated by the artistic means of expression consistently used, which can no longer be called "Aronofsky's style." It should be emphasized excellent acting. On Natalie Portman is based on the entire movie (this was also in "The Wrestler" Mickey Rourke and acting) and is a creation worthy of at least an Oscar, and maybe even memorial on Sunset Boulevard. An excellent second place, Mila Kunis as the main antagonist heroine convincingly Cassel, Barbara Hershey, very good in the role of mother. An interesting idea was to fill Winona Ryder, a fallen Hollywood star as a retired ballerina outgoing artistic. There is a pinch of cynicism and irony, but it only intensifies the interactions between characters. The fact that the film is well directed and photographed (Golden Globe Awards in these categories, nominated for an Oscar), to mention just a formality.

Finally a few words about the soundtrack. Clint Mansell, full-time composer of music for film Aronofsky, Tchaikovsky used the original scores, only adding some new elements. Russian composer music scene perfectly illustrates that we see. This treatment has culminated in finale, the premiere performances of ballet.

One of the best films of last year. My rating 9 / 10.
